This is just a quickie showing you the process of how I construct my Kittywake design. The video is made before I improved my set up and there are chunks of the make missing, so apologies for the quality, but alongside the other content in my Blog it should give you a good idea of how to create a Kittywake for yourself.

Kittywakes are small gulls found around the British coastline with a yellow bill and a grey back. There is a population of them on the Isles of Scilly, where I have family and am fortunate to be able to visit frequently. You can usually hear Kittywakes before you see them as they hunt for sand eels for their dinner at the beach.
I designed these Kittywakes to supply for sale to Gallery Tresco on Tresco Island, which is part of the Duchy of Cornwall, currently the estate of Prince William. I like to cut out sunglasses from magazines and decoupage them onto them so they look as if they are having a nice holiday, which greatly amuses me and is in danger of being very irreverent! Hopefully the future King shares my sense of humour...! I'm finding that seagulls are the more popular choice with customers though, plus I am increasingly simplifying the form of my sculptures and my Kittywake designs has some features that can't be streamlined enough for my satisfaction, so I doubt I will be producing many more of these.
Enjoy the short video below and I look forward to seeing what you make!
